Is there any standard medical approach for all PCOS patients?

PCOS patients are the group of patients that need to be supervised closely as this condition is more likely to suffer from OHSS. Depending on several factors, the protocol and the final triggering would be proposed.

We don’t have a specific protocol for patients with PCO Syndrome being those protocols that use clomiphene useful in these cases. However, a protocol that we use in this kind of patient is the Antral Follicular moderation protocol in which previous preparation is carried out before they start stimulation with gonadotropins and GnRH antagonists.

As far as protocol use, I would dare to say that doing a long protocol nowadays doing a long protocol for PCOS patients is a scientific error. Used in Brussels and in Brussels were first to apply only antagonist protocols in PCOS patients. Before the Humaidan protocol which means before use of the Decapeptyl triggering there was no other solution. Today we have Decapeptyl triggering – no woman should experience OHSS – Ovarian Hyper-Stimulation Syndrome and all the patients should do antagonist protocol. It is almost without any risk and it gives us perfect and very high results.
