Raquel Urteaga García

Raquel for the last 20 years has dedicated herself to help people going through an emotional slump using cognitive-behavioural therapy. Ten years ago, she decided to go further and specialise through two master’s degrees in two increasingly necessary branches of Health Psychology: Psycho-oncology and the Psychology of Assisted Human Reproduction.

Since 2018 she is a member of the psychology interest group of the SEF (Spanish Fertility Society) and she is currently in charge of the psychology unit at Clinica Tambre. Raquel loves her job, being able to help and accompany people facing fertility treatments fills her with satisfaction. It is lovely to share those moments of happiness when they achieve positive outcomes and see their dream come true, and it is also gratifying to feel their relief when they are in the midst of the struggle.

Raquel feels that there is still much work to be done to make psychological support a part of fertility treatment so that it is not experienced with so much emotional discomfort. And that’s where she is now!
