May endometrial scratch help implanting embryos?

Endometrial scratching, also known as the endometrial biopsy, is a procedure that may be useful in IVF treatment. But is it recommended for everybody? What does it look like and what is the reason for using this technique?

Well, actually the scratch of the endometrium try to help us to get a thicker endometrial lining. So basically if it helps the implantation is because we’re getting a better endometrium but not because it’s actually doing something on the implantation. It’s basically trying to scratch it to help to develop an easier way and get it a thicker line for the embryo transfer.

Yes, it is something that we have answered before. So, yes, it can help in proper subgroups of patients; in patients whose endometrial immunity activity is lower, where the lack or not proper functions of NK cells, when we have a low level of recruitment there are from the peripheral blood or from bone marrow. So these groups of patients can benefit from this procedure.
