Why does donor egg IVF fail sometimes?

Donor eggs, although very successful as a treatment, do not give a 100% guarantee for a pregnancy. Especially, when there are other factors that impact implantation or embryo development. Find out what the reasons are that egg donation fails sometimes.

IVF with donor eggs sometimes also fails. It does not mean that when using donated eggs, the chances of achieving a pregnancy are going to be 100%, we have to also take to account that some embryos could not have the best quality meaning for example, this could be abnormal chromosomally as well, obviously in a very low percentage. Also, there are other factors that could be affecting the chances of achieving that pregnancy, and these could be uterine factors, immunological factors and also sometimes even in the sperm. So is very important that if we had a previous failed embryo transfer maybe we have to see if we have to test other things regarding the couple or the patient to see if we need other treatments to add it up to the ones that we normally put during an embryo transfer.
