Does the sperm come out after IUI?
May sperm fall out after IUI?
Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is one of fertility treatments where sperm is placed directly into a woman’s uterus. During natural conception, sperm have to travel from the vagina through the cervix, into the uterus, and up to the fallopian tubes.
No, this is a myth to say that the sperm comes out. Actually if you feel wet after the procedure, that will be due to the mucus. The mucus plug is sometimes disrupted by inserting the catheter but it does not mean that the sperm is out. The sperm is fully injected, very high in the fundus and if you realise that this is not semen, this is pure sperm, which is microscopic. By using the sperm washing techniques this is converting the seminal fluid into a pellet of sperm.
