What can a man do after hearing an infertility diagnosis?
Where to look for help after hearing infertility diagnosis?
Infertility affects male and females equally. Nowadays the tendency is to do tests immediately for both. Male factor is more often heard to be the main reason for lack of pregnancy.
First thing to do is to reach out to someone such as a loved one or a family friend, so you can get some advice and the internet is also useful with a great community on instagram. Hearing other peoples stories brings me comfort as I know I am not alone. There are many support groups popping up within the UK and all over the world. Where I am based in South Wales, I know of a fertility network group, Infertility, with 30-35 men joining every month who are all from different backgrounds. It is great to hear all their different stories and fertility journeys, including where they are in the process.
For me, most important is acceptance and understanding your situation, what you are going through. But really speaking and confiding in someone is a big positive for moving forward not only in your journey, but in your relationship as well.
