I think it’s very very important to ensure that women that have experienced miscarriage they feel emotionally well and they find support from professionals. There are in various European countries different miscarriage associations, miscarriage groups that can assist patients that have experience miscarriage and to get better, emotionally better. So definitely counselling is important, emotional support is important. Can be found within specific clinical settings but can also be found by patient organisations.

Some really good places to look for support after a miscarriage. I would hope that your local early pregnancy unit would help you access that and often they have their own support groups. The Miscarriage Association is a really really good place to look. They have really helpful information and groups and support groups available and also the Tommy’s website I find is very helpful and many of my patients have found that a very useful place to look. Of course, the other thing is once you start telling people, if you choose to do so, what you’ll find is so, many people that you know have had a miscarriage and actually often I think that the support then comes from there as well.
