Well during embryo implantation, the embryo has to get rid of, as we were telling, the zona pellucida and get out of that shield that actually protects the embryo till that point. By doing that, the embryo can get in contact with the cells of the endometrium – they have to start talking with the cells of the endometrium and do a lot of biological procedures that make the addition and the penetration of the embryo into the endometrium. That’s sort of what happens right after the embryo transfer.
About this question:
How long does embryo implantation procedure take?
Embryo has to make a great effort to implant. First is to hatch – escape from the shell called zona pellucida. Only once it breaks out, the actual process of implantation – getting in touch with endometrial cells, begins.
