After transferring, of course if we are speaking on a Day 5, embryo have to do the hatching which is getting rid of the zona pellucida, zona have to break it and embryo get out of zona pellucida and the cells of the blastocyst can get in contact with the cells of the endometrium. First they have to do the addition to those cells and then progressively they will start to get into those cells of the endometrium and actually do the implantation. That something that, as we were telling before, start around 48 to 72 hours after embryo transfer and then after implantation, the embryos still need to keep growing and developing and to do that, they need the blood flow from the mother which is on the vessels on the endometrium inside the uterus. That’s the point in which we can measure on a blood sample the pregnancy, test the hcg hormone and that’s how we realized that the implantation is there – was done completely and successfully. After that, is a matter of the embryo to develop and it will grow until we get to a week six or seven in which we can see the heartbeat and actually to a confirmation or a clinical diagnosis of the pregnancy in which we derived the patient to OB-GYN to do the follow up of the pregnancy.

After an embryo transfer, what is going to happen is finally the implantation, which is a process where the embryo will have some dialogue with the endometrium, will attach to it and then will go inside of the endometrium. Then the vascular bed is going to develop and the placenta is going to develop. So it’s a process where the embryo is going to go really deep or not extremely deep but inside the endometrium.
