Ovulation induction is a safe treatment for achieving a pregnancy. In the population of women that have irregular or absent ovulation, the risks are mainly associated with multiple pregnancy and very very rarely hyperstimulation.

Well, it depends. If you induce ovulation today and you have sex with your partner in one week that maybe it was bad because then you already induced it right but you induce ovulation for like an In Vitro Fertilization and then you collect the ovum, then you find the partner’s sperm and put it together and make the implantation – it’s it’s a synthetic way – it has its drawbacks so it could have same as the natural way it’s a chance so it can happen or it cannot happen depending on the medics and your implantation conditions and all the medications that you’ll be getting – so it’s not guaranteed.
I mean, it depends what you’re looking for – BAD is a big word, I wouldn’t say bad, it’s good for science to be able to do all these things, induced in a synthetic way. You really want to achieve pregnancy and you have a particular problem, for example a blockage in the developing tube or a progesterone deficiency or for example your partner’s sperm is not great. Maybe inducing ovulation then to do an artificial insemination maybe in these cases is good but if you’re just inducing it for no reason, I wouldn’t call it bad but why – there is no reason to just induce for no reason.

About this question:

What are the risks of ovulation induction?

Ovulation inductions carry risks for multiple pregnancies. When the stimulating hormones are given, it can happen that more than one egg will be released and therefore there can be fecundation of more than one egg. Twins, triplets or in general multiple pregnancies are high risk pregnancies and are not recommended. Proper monitoring is needed when the drugs stimulating ovulation are given.
