Some normal embryos miscarry but this depends on the couple, this depends on whether there are uterine or immunological factors that can cause an embryo to miscarry. There are some women who have idiopathic miscarriages. In other words we do not understand why they miscarry, so these women miscarry normal ones as well. But the percentage of normal embryos being miscarried is very small compared to the women who don’t have analysed embryos and are above 38 to 40 years of age. It is around two to three percent but it also depends on the couple and the lab.

About this question:

What number of embryos miscarry after genetic testing?

Genetic testing doesn’t guarantee successful pregnancy or live birth. What is actually telling you is that the embryo is genetically normal – euploid or can inform about aneuploidy, mosaicism. What are the statistics in miscarriage rate after the transfer of euploid embryos?
