Does window of implantation change?
Why does implantation happen at different times?
Window of implantation is very important because it’s the window in which the embryo has to synchronize with the endometrium, so that the implantation can take place.
Actually the window of implantation is something that eventually can change but while doing the protocol for an embryo transfer, we try to imitate what nature does. We know how physiologically an implantation should be and so we try to imitate that. So it can change of course if we move away from the protocol and don’t do the things as much as nature does. Thing is that if you measure progesterone before starting to take it and the progesterone is high, of course the window of implantation will change (will move) but we’ll move according to the develop of the embryo because, of course, the window of implantation is something that it’s not by itself, it’s not something that it’s alone – it have to go by the hand with the stage of the development of the embryo. So when we have progesterone, high levels of blood progesterone after starting it, we actually don’t transfer the embryo, we cancel the embryo transfer. We need to have a really low dose so we can start giving it to our patients, so that the window of implantation will be synchronized with the embryo development.
