Hand carry is when delivery is performed by a personal, trained medical courier from “door-to-door”. Maximum safety. Courier will make sure the container is upright at all times, the data logger is recording the temperature. When needed he provides air security with all necessary permissions during screening procedures at airports, so containers with the material are not exposed to X-rays. An alternative method like swabbing for explosive materials is done. At your option, the courier could even send you photos from his trip at some points.

As for cargo shipping, at some level, you could compare it to goods delivery which most transport companies do. It is sent without the courier’s supervision. However, before the dispatch, we put the container inside a special hard case designed for medical containers. Those are marked with “do not X-ray”, “keep upright”, “fragile”, “biological material” labels on the outside. Customs services, airline securities are notified about such cargo coming in advance.
