General no. Once you’ve ovulated and as I’ve mentioned previously, the life of the egg is only 12 to 24 hours – then in general no. Once you’ve ovulated then you will no longer be able to conceive after that time has ended. However, in some rare circumstances and it’s not particularly well researched, women can release a second egg, although it’s very very rare and I think the research is quite controversial.
In general, I would say no – after ovulation you’re not able to conceive again but there might be some circumstances where that can.

Ovulation is the release of egg inside the abdominal. Once the egg has been released, it can stay alive for up to 24 hours so if the intercourse has taken place within this period of time, then the egg can be fertilized and the pregnancy can potentially take place but if the intercourse takes place after 24 hours, post ovulation, then unfortunately, egg will not have survived and not fertilized by sperm.

There is a very small chance but still a chance because some sperm is low, some sperm could be really fast and also most of the studies based ovulation estimation on the LH peak. Sometimes it takes maybe two days of LH peak to really release that ovum so you could think okay ovulation is in 24 hours but maybe that particular cycle it took 48 hours to come out. A sperm was coming around 24 hours after the peak and still managed to get to the ovum so there’s still a chance. Again ,if you look at the graph of the fertile window, you can see there is still a small chance but a chance.

About this question:

How many days after ovulation can you get pregnant?

Ovum  – a mature egg, is able to be fertilized within 24 hours from being released from the ovary. Sperm on the other hand can be active for up to a week and for this reason it is so important to calculate properly when the fertile days are.
