Meet Sokratis V. Grigoriadis

Sokratis comes from a small beautiful town in Greece, Corinth. He is a Biologist of Reproduction, holding a bachelor degree with First Class Honours, awarded by the Department of Biology at the University of Patras. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Human Reproduction awarded by the Second Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since November 2019, he is a PhD candidate at the Department of Physiology at the Medical School of Athens and a member of the Research Group of Clinical Embryology and Physiology of Reproduction. He conducted his undergraduate thesis in the field of Developmental and Molecular Biology at the Department of Biology, School of Medicine of the University of Patras. During this period, he was holding a position as a Geneticist in the Laboratory of Genetics, in the Pediatric Clinic of the same university. As a postgraduate researcher he investigated the impact of maternal age on In Vitro Fertilization outcome and his current research activity focuses on delineating the perplexing mechanisms entailed in embryo implantation. Currently, the team research Laboratory studies Infertility, Embryology, Assisted Reproduction and Reproductive Endocrinology. Sokratis has contributed as an author to more than 30 publications in international peer-reviewed journals and participated in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad. He is member of the Health Committee of the Panhellenic Association of Life Scientists, a member of ESHRE, and founding member of the Scientific Society of Clinical Embryology and Biology of Reproduction. The incentive behind his choice on becoming a clinical embryologist stems from his utmost respect for the infertile couple driving his clinical and research goals towards offering them the highest standard of care.
